What is OEM?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
OEM auto glass is fabricated by the same manufacturer that provided the original glass the automaker placed in your vehicle.
OEM Windscreens offer the benefit of being identical to the windscreen that was installed when your vehicle was built. OEM windscreens are made by the same companies that manufactured your original windscreen and will match the original windscreens' colour, thickness, fit and shape. This means that it will fit right and ensure that other options connected to the windshield work perfectly. In addition, OEM windscreens usually have matching logos to the original glass.
What s OEE?
OEE or Original Equipment Equivalent Windscreens are windscreens manufactured by the same companies that make OEM but the logo on the glass is that of the glass manufacturer, (typically Pilkington) not the automaker. These windscreens are made to the same standards as the OEM glass and often in the same factories but may not have the car's brand stamped on the glass.
What are Aftermarket Windscreens?
Aftermarket Windscreens are manufactured by glass companies that do not have OEM relationships with the car makers. Aftermarket windscreens (usually reverse-engineered) are created by glass companies that have no affiliation with the original car makers. These windscreens are designed to fit the size and proportions of your car but can vary in thickness, colour, and UV protection. It’s important to note that they are not approved by the original car-makers and that some attachments may not function properly.
Windscreen Fixers only fit OEM glass.
